Rob Roy cave near by. We then take boat down Loch Lomond & recall the strains of Bonnie Banks. Ben Lomond looms on our view an unscalable peak but on other side is quite easy to walk. We pass Rob Roy's prison. We are in Rob Roys country & everything has some connection with him. This part of Loch is narrow & hemmed in by craggy & bare hills while lower down it opens out hills recede & numerous densely wooded isles come into view in one of which Inchmurrin is ruins of an old castle tho little remains of it. The lochs are all very much similar & one tires of them so much so that we decided to cancel our trip to Loch Fyne tomorrow.

We arrive at Balloch & take train to Glasgow. Railway Hotel is full & a friend whom I have met in train intercedes for us without success. We try several hotels & get in at one we do not like Lees so back to [indecipherable] & finally we get in there & are very comfortable.

Still with Lees & Molesworth & subordinate my scheme to those & am not as well satisfied as if I had remained on my own. We visit [indecipherable] & a Mrs Anderson goes to no end of trouble to arrange a days outing for us. We then set out to visit Art Gallery & walk through it & see nothing tho it contains many gems. Next we return to city lunch & go to National Projectile works, a munitions factory - nothing interesting - girls do all the work which is machine lathing & turning. Shells are delivered forged  & then are turned to crrect size - then bottled in process below & then returned & turned again & again then varnished & dried in furnace inspected & despatched. Labour saving devices are rare &
