pictures on. The French wear a medal for wounds and have two different coloured uniforms - blue and khaki, the latter being worn by the Zovaues and colonials. 

We used to have a swim in the lagoon there which was very deep. Once a prize was given for the best improvised boat and G,W, tried to make one out of petrol tins tied together it was only a partial success. One evening we went to Riverie in luggage motors to see the Green Diamonds concert party give a show. There are numbers of these concert parties in France for the edification of the troops behind the line the Aussies Cooees and Kookaburras are I think some. They are generally to be found in an (Ecole Filles) girls school giving their concerts as this is the most suited place. The concert was excellent consisting principally of some sentimental songs and pieces and some humorous burlesque. 

I might say a little about Riverie and Camon, both are the nicer parts of the city, of course French houses aren't as sanitary or up to the standard of English ones but it is of the streets that I wish to speak. They are far better laid out than English streets there being 3 avenues, down the centre one the tram lines run, and the other two are for the traffic one for the right going the other for the left.
