The enemy make a point of shelling the ways of our communication, as we no doubt do theirs, result is that numerous casualties occur to various non-combating branches of our army. Wagons, and horses and drivers are completely blown to pieces at times, as also are the ammunition limbers. Serious results in this way add up day after day to an astonishing total. Yet it is all part of the game and cannot be avoided as the necessary work of supplying provisions and munitions must unceasingly carry on.
