engines our speed does not seem very fast. Of course one lost the pleasantness of the trip by being down in a ward surrounded by unfortunate sufferers. The weather seemed beautifully calm as the "Gascon" was very steady. In our ward we had 97 patients & we are No. 6 ward, how many more I do not know. I heard General Bridges passed away on board - his health was the result of an explosive bullet. It is in a certain sense amusing to see the men in our ward hopping about here like kangaroos, others hobbling on crutches. I feel fairly well now except stiffness.
