had just finished. The din of battle went on all day but we ate drank & slept as if it was a daily occurrence. Such is the habit of life.
Finished up with a very warm few hours in the afternoon. We were shelled on all sides & our Col Rosenthal was wounded & also Major Burgess while in Headquarters Dugout. Sent us order to search ridge.
Thursday 6th
Another very warm day for us. We were shelled right & left & had to retire to our dug outs. One shell broke the wheel of our gun - others were right in front a few yards. One came into our dug out etc. It was a veritable inferno. Capt Leslie
