My Dear Old Anne? Ame? Arne?:
I'm happier this morning than I have been for months & months & months. Your letter and Papers of March 6 have just arrived with the good news of mother's improvement, and I'm Singin' all the time.
I'm so glad the locket arrived safely and I'm so pleased that Mither likes it. You'll be suprised to find that I'm still in England. Our draft was expected to leave for Egypt on Monday last.. But we are still standing by and may leave any hour. Somehow I'm glad the holidaying is over and I can be up and doing again. If we go to Mesopotamia I should get another book out of it.. The moment the royalties start to roll in I will send something along. You'd be astonished at the way the money flies here. Still I don't think it has been wasted.
