My dear Jim
I'm always hesitating about writing to you cos I think that I'd hear any day that you are on the way and that my letters will pass you .
Anyhow, I must drop a line to thank you for yours dated Aug 6 just to hand. Glad to know you are getting on well, & do hope you get your commission before you come away. Things are so much nicer & you can go anywhere when you have stars up. I'm fit as a fiddle. Am giving Anne and Jean all the news.
