Monday, 11  November  1918

Fine & sunny. As soon as the news of the Armstice came out everybody went mad. I dont suppose there has been such a sight in the world before. The streets were just full of people & vehicles & not one angry word spoken. I got an Australian Flag & about twenty officers & we kept it flying very well all day, & then again at the Follies Bergêre at night & the boulavards in the early morning again.
