Wednesday, 2  October  1918

Fine & warm, but had a white frost in the morning. I went forward to pick a battery position with the Captain. We got a fair one. Got orders after though that we were not going to shift tonight.  

Saw where the Yanks broke through today. Fritz just slaughtered them like flies.
