Fine & hot. I was on my way to the battery OP & called in & saw Doc Samson at 9th Field Ambulance about my boil. He sent me straight up to the A.D.S. [Advanced Dressing Station] at Bussey, they sent me out to the C.C.S. [Casualty Clearing Station] at Crouy Les Allencious & they sent me on to the 47th C.C  S at Crouy where I was admitted into the officer's ward. It was very nice, & they look after you very well. There were only half a dozen of us there. Sister Houlson was the day sister & Sister Kelly (an Irish girl) was the night sister. Both jolly good sorts.
