Fine & hot. I was out with the battery giving them manoevures all the morning, and we all went (officers) down to H.Q. in the  morning  evening to say goodbye to Lt. Col. James D.S.O. who left us later in evening to go to R.B.A.A. [Reserve Brigade Australian Artillery] at Heytesbury. We got Lt. Col.  King in his place, & nobody seems very pleased about it  either.

We took all the team horses up to the parade ground in the evening and tried them out. Some of them moved very nicely for heavy horses.

The major & I went round for a ride after & did not get home till late.

Fritz was over bombing all round this evening.
