[October 12]

Wrote 24 letter home.

Reveille at 6 AM breakfast at 6.30 & we packed our packs & gave them in & rolled our blankets for the limber.  Marched off about 8 & got to Ypres about 10 AM, billeted in an old ruined building.  It is an Old Military barrack, but it is wrecked by shell fire.  I met a Geordie in Charge of the Church Army tea stall & we had a long talk.  Our Billets are very good.  It is a cold raw like night, but otherwise fairly quiet.
