[September 25]

Its a lovely day, great for aeroplane observation.

We had to stay in big German dugout all night, slept the best we could in a sitting position & packed like sardines.  Fritz's shelling has knocked a lot of our Motor transports out, & exploded some of our small dumps of munition.  Shelling from both side this morning.  Both sides seem very angry.  Moved up from Bde at 2 PM & got to Advance Bde about 2.45 PM, left again about 4 to go to front line & had a rough time, being shelled & sniped at by M.G. from Fritz's aeroplane.  We encamped behind a Fritz dugout & none of us knew what we had to do.  This is a rough sort of a place & Fritz is making it very uncomfortable.
