of course fritz retaliated & blew our trench about a bit & 2 chaps had to go away with concussion our artillery as been active this afternoon but did not get much of a response from Fritz. There was a great cheer went up one of our planes & a german had a go the pilot of the Hun machine must have been for he dived straight down to about 200 ft from the ground but then managed to gain control of his machine worse luck & got away amidst a hail of rifle fire. There was a heavey bombardment this evening at 10 oclock it was pretty warm while it lasted but we escaped with a few light casualties
Sunday 25th
A bit of bombing by both sides & artillery this morning our artillery was active all the afternoon but got a very poor response from the Hun there was a raid on our right & left this evening & a heavey fire for about 2 hrs but thank God we were neutral for once one of the raids was a success no report of the other one yet
