Thursday Dec. 30th
I had from 9pm last night to 7pm to night off so I went to Cairo for a bit of a look around this morning this afternoon had a look over the hospital it is a great place the kitchen alone is worth a look at everything up to the knocker of course it was only built 8 yrs ago for a 1st class hotel so you can guess it is up to date we went right up on to the roof there is a good skating rink there & you can command a good view from there there is a great reception hall I suppose you would call it with a balcony supported by marble pillows & bulustrades of marble all round it is a magnificent building & would take a better pen than mine to describe
Friday 31st
Did the usual 3 shifts for the 24 hrs.
Saturday 1st Jan. 1916
There was very little display to welcome the New Year in but some of the doctors had a good time I was on from 2am to 4
