Wednesday Dec. 1st
Fine warm day trench digging all day pyramids seen very plain from here
Thursday 2nd
Extended order before breakfast cold fine day attack before dinner it was a mess up the Major was very wild
On minature rifle range in the afternoon. Went to Helmeik tea rooms in the evening. they are run by two English Ladies for the benefit of the soldiers open leave here
Friday 3rd
Another attack this morning better managed than the last. Route march through Heliopilos in the afternoon came back through Pont de Kulbeh. The are some very fine marches around here & the roads are good for marching after the desert
Saturday 4th
An easy morning. Drill afternoon off visited Heliopilos there is a good soldiers recreation & tea rooms there all the Hotels have big balconies
