Wednesday June 7th
The bombardment finished this morning at a ¼ to 1 am & the raid was very successfull so the Aus have got a bit of their own back they held the German fire trench through most of the fight unbeknown to the supports
The Huns have been very quite all day so they must have got a good scare but perhaps they are preparing a surprise packet for us but they will find us wide awake. We were very lucky & only had one man injured a mate of mine Bruce Anderson but it was only slight up till time of filling in things were quite we are hoping they will remain so for the night
Thursday 8th
Things were quite all last night & bit of long range firing by both sides at something behind the lines This morning the front lines fired a few bombs at each other this afternoon which means some more fatigue for us things are quite up till midnight
