Thursday May 11th
Had an easy day did a bit of bombing things pretty quite along the front at least we didnt hear much shooting
Friday 12th
Moved off at 7pm for the firing line stopped at Armentiers for the night arrived there at 11pm after a stiff march billeted in a big school all the windows are broke & battered about a lot with shells
Saturday 13th
Got up at 10am & had a look round the town it is a fair sized place & had electric trams but of course they are stopped now most of the hourses are windowless the walls full of shell holes all the telephone wires are hanging down in tangles see some big smoke stacks with holes through them it is a wonder they stand up at all. Most of the population have cleared out but there are still a lot of shops here some of the streets are covered with grass & the whole place as a desolate appearance
