[February 1]

Still in Switch trench, it has been quiet this morning, only a few air machine over head.  We hear the 15th BN are hopping over tonight with some Tommy regiments.  The bombardment started at 7 PM are kept fairly heavy till 7.30 & then it was a little shelling all night.  I hear that the 15th took the trench, took 40 prisons & our side had few casualties.  The Bde rung up at midnight for 3 of our Lewis machine guns & their crew, 3 from A. Coy went up, they must be expecting a counter attack in the morning.  Fairly quiet at midnight.
