[January 17]

My word it is a lovely morning there is about 6 or 8 inches of snow, everything is white & it is still snowing, the first thing I did was to throw a snowball.  We are on fatigue today widening a drain, it seems a useless job & we are spending more time throwing snowballs.  My hands are a little blushed from the shovel.  Our huts are fairly comfortable but it is very cold at nights.  I have 3 blankets & a German waterproof which I make a sleeping-bag of.  We no nothing about moving.
