3/    two numbers. Then alas I got my marching orders & came out East to rejoin the Brigade. I started a limerick competition on Tel el Kebir before I left.   The boys took it up very keenly.   In order to give it a start I churned out half a dozen. Here is one:

Do the Germans want Tel el Kebir?

Do the Turks want to settle down here

The Jews wouldn't  stick it

We're on a bad wicket

Give us Beer, Let us Cheer, and then Clear.

That's the only one  can remember at present.
