and opera house & parades are wonderful .   The sea hereabouts is very very blue.   We were very keen on getting  ashore &  managed to escape.   The Ship was soon surrounded by the' dicers' or boats of the watermen (I think it is spelled 'dhaissers' or something equally outlandish). The Latin Europeans all stand? up to row their boats and they can travel some. The Cathedral was the one place that I found really interesting.   The whole ceiling is gorgeously painted.   The walls are all carved stone.   The paintings are fine & the statues & busts wonderfully interesting.   There is a huge gate made of silver &
