Wednesday 19th
Another day out on the desert it is getting harder every day the Col. is a slave driver Told us to charge a 100 yrds Black Bob (that is a pet name for our (Leiu) driving us along at the start but knocked up before the finish so we rallied him up.
Detailed for receiving guard tomorrow so that means a 30 hour spell.
Thursday 20th
Went on guard at 10am under Serg Paul only one prisoner so we had 2 hrs on & 22 off took prisoner down to canal to catch provision launch at 6pm came back through native quarter
We had plenty of tucker & cocoa on this guard for a wonder also a good spell
Friday 21st
Up early this morning & speared bread of army service waggons bringing in stores this issue of bread we get is only enough for one meal so we either have to shake it or buy it & you only get a little bit of a loaf for 3 pia. Came of guard at 10am had balance of day off received 9 letters & 1 parcel. Night operations under Scot.
