These female refugees are invariably slatternly, dirty & untidy, although some evidently have been used to other habits. It is a pity to see bright intelligent looking kiddies gradually deteriorating under the bad influence.
From Mont de Cats we followed a range of hills, then descended over the border in Belgium at the village of Boechepe. Soon after leaving the village, which was crowded with lorries, & which seemed to be contain at least three English Ambulance headquarters, we recrossed into France, & came to the siding where the 3rd had established their headquarters & were running a Rest Station
