We went to one shop in particular answering to the above description, & run by a family of people who had lost their home owing to the war. There were three old women, evidently sisters, a younger lady the daughter of one of them & a husband, all Belgians. The three elderly ladies run the refreshment side while the daughter speaks excellent English & does all the work including a certain amount of cross talk with facetious soldiers while pa looks on & smokes his pipe. For all the work he does he might just as well be sitting
