Arrived there we were put into good huts, & given 6d each in lieu of tea; also leave in town till 10 p.m.
The three of us went into town & had a feed at what I should judge to be the most fashionable restaurant in town, judging by the prices. After that we went to a Picture show & finished the evening by riding back in the tram with some Yanks.
Undoubtedly they are very boastful in their talk, & one can easily understand how they get on the nerves of the old soldiers. England to them was no good, because it was so behind the times
