We saw no enemy in the locality, we got home for tea & I went on picquet. We had a few presents given out, that had been sent over for Xmas, a pudding for a section & 2 ozs. of tobacco. the pudding went down well but it was only a taste & it really upsets the palate for beef & biscuits.
Jan 2/Sunday Went down to church service in the Yeomanys lines & after wrote a few letters.
Jan 4/Raining very hard all day, eight of us went out as mounted outpost got home at 7 pm, We are duty Regt:
5/Up at 4.30 am, mounted Hdqts orderly, still raining
