the Y.M.C.A. shed given by the English ladies of Maddi. Issued with shirts & socks etc not before its time. Rumours on foot of making another Regt. of the details, there is so many now in the details that there is no chance of them all getting into the Regiment.
March 9th/ Men for the Artillery called for; There are 400 men in details & 90 p.c. have volunteered for the artillery Baker Campbell Currie & myself put in as drivers. Most of the hospitals are closing around Cairo.
