daintes. The guns rattled away more on Xmas Day than any other day. I thought it might be a peacefull day on both sides we were out at night. taking up shells to replace those fired. I was thinking of my last Xmas dinner at Matruh. Tripoli but this is far the best dinner as we did have three tin puddings amongst us.
Jan 14th/17 Two years service to,day went on leave from Ginchy, 22 hrs in train from Albert to Le Harve, a terrible slow & cold trip.
