& some 500 sheep. behind all the latter were brought into camp. We killed ten sheep for the squadron & kidded we would have a feed of fresh meat & make up for Xmas Day.
The cooks boiled them with the bully beef & the meat was so rank that it upset the stew. no more fresh meat on the desert in future.
Some of the boys from NSWs received parcels so had cake & plum pudding for a change. There was one thing wrong & that was that there was not enough of it.
