were issued out & then for learning the foot drill & rifle. I was put in the training squad for a couple of weeks.
Feb. 1st/
Fifty of us made into the 5th Reinft. of 6th Regt. The month was continued with the usual: camp drill, gaurde & range shooting.
March 3rd/
Went on final leave to Aberdeen & had a good time three days only were granted for final leave; came back & we are expecting to sail any day.
April 27th
Went to measles contact camp, when about to come out fell sick with influenza. The troop sailed on May 20th & I missed them, it was hard luck.
