Friday 3rd November 1916
There isn't anything to put down for a week

Saturday 11th November
A chap jumped overboard and delayed us two hours while they were looking for him.  Mad as a rabbit.  We are having a lifebelt drill and alarms come at any time now.

Sunday 12th November
Everything is just the same.  Land was sighted this afternoon.  I think it is the Cape Verde Islands

Monday 13th November  St Vincents
We reached St Vincents at about 3pm and we soon had a crowd of bum boats around us also riggers would dive for coins and never miss bringing them up.  We left at dusk and are going like anything.

Tuesday 14th November
The sea is changing its disposition its getting rough.  Up till now I haven't been sick.

Wednesday 15th November
Everything is alright for three days

Sunday 19th November. Bay of Biscay
Woke up at 3.am. with everything on the floor we are having very rough weather. You can't go on deck or you'll stand a good chance of being taken overboard.  We played cards.  I am 17 and 1 day old.  No fuss though.
