barrow loads of sifted ashes until 12 noon when I got changed and after dinner went to town. I came back and wrote some letters & got to bed.
April 1st Wednesday
The convoys of gassed patients began to arrive and we were kept busy for a week then wounded from the push began to arrive and today the 12th is pretty slack. Nothing but convoys & evacs for nearly a fortnight.
April 24th Wednesday
I worked right through until 8p.m. & was warned for night duty to start at 12p.m. I started at 2a.m. on Hut 5 very heavy surgical cases.
April 26th Friday
Was put on Section 4 till 11p.m. then Hut 5 till 6a.m. then Hut 3 till knock-off then came down to the tent & had a sleep. Got up at 4.30p.m. had tea & a bath & prepared for work.
