Sunday 15th April
Sladie woke me up at 6a.m. and I got up feeling that something was doing.. There was.. I helped to man the parapet and let loose three clips at 800 yds and had the satisfaction to see four drop. Shells were flying all over the place and the support lines were hell for some time. I was on the gun so had to move further up. Fritz was driven back for we were too many for him and he lost hundreds of men. That night we shifted over to the other side of the village and dug ourselves in and got to sleep.
Monday 16th April
We went through the usual trench routine.
Monday 30th April
After practising the stunt for a week or more and generally advertising it we moved up once more past Noreuil.
