Sunday 18th March
We had a big day today for the past fortnight we have been doing drill starting from a recruit up to a solider. We have bombing today machine-gun firing and then our kit inspection and a medical inspection. We are joining the Batt tomorrow so we packed up.
Monday 19th March - Bapaume Road, Grevillers
Marched from Becourt along the Bapaume Rd to a ruined village called Grevillers we the Batt is. we got our quarters we had tea and then got to bed.
Tuesday 20th March
Got up at 8a.m. and went on fatigues we have to shift mud of which there is tons. We had a good days work.
Saturday 24th March
I joined the scouts today and am learning to be a signaller. I had a sit by the fire and then hopped into bed. 8 to a loaf of bread.
