Sunday 11th February
The hun was pretty quiet all day so after getting our rations at 7:30pm we proceeded to the front line. He sent a few whizz-bangs over and sniped with a machine-gun but never got any. We reached the front line at 11pm and stood to at once.
Monday 12th February
It is very quiet today but the No 24 post is getting some whizz-bangs.
Tuesday 13th February - Gunpit Alley
We were relieved at 10pm by the 20th and after slipping, sliding and falling we reached the reserve lines at 3:30am three hours bucks heesh. We were glad to get to bed.
Wednesday 14th February - Villa Camp
Got up 12 noon and got our rations. We had dinner and then a mob of us marched to Villa Camp where we stayed three days.
Sunday 18th February
We shifted back to Shelter Wood and spent the night there.
