the thick of it, but as it has to be done, the sooner the better.The tucker in these base camps is not good nor bad as far as that goes, but just a I remarked in the diary I kept at Gallipoli, it is better to get to ones unit where one is looked after well, & at least feeds are certain during the average time. Under these conditions feeds are by no means certain always, for rations get lost or wet or damaged, & tea is unheard of except at actual stoppages.Travelling to Gallipoli was just as miserable as travelling to the line here. Anyhow I shall soon be right in, &s; then I want to get used to the conditions
