Saturday 7th October 1916 - Show Grounds Dalgetty's Wharf "Ceramio" "Heads"
We arrived at the Show Grounds at about 2a.m. and got ready to march to the boat. We arrived at Dalgetty's Wharf at 6a.m and went straight on to the boat where we were shown our quarters. I dumped my gear and ran up on deck and then the "Ceramio" moved out to the stream and I saw the last of my friends. We were paid our last land pay and then settled down to ship life. We sailed out of the heads at 5p.m. and shortly after I got to bed tired out.
