Some of the fellows had to go out on another stunt last Wednesday but luckily I escaped that as Bernard has a sore back – no fault of mine they made us take him out last time when his back was beginning to be rubbed.
However I am very glad I did not go as they went out as far as Bir el Abd but never saw a turk not fired a shot, so there was not much in it.
I am afraid that Bernard will have to be sent back to the remount depot as he is as poor as a crow & in addition to
