We left Bit el Abd at about 8 oclock got back to our temporary camp – the place where I commenced this lengthy despatch, I don't know its name – about 3 oclock; drew fodder & rations; stopped at "Oghratina" for tea; then proceeded back arriving here at about 1.30 on the morning of June 1st Thursday (today), having sustained one casualty – a horse, which was shot as its leg was broken by an exceedingly well-directed kick on the as we coming came home –
It was exceedingly fortunate for us that we came straight home
