cause to thank me, however I will take care my conduct shall never cause a sigh or Blush from them or any of my friends.  However which Way I am to find my way here I have not yet thought of.  Sometimes the Investigator presents itself & some times the Buffalo but I have not yet decided on either & of course shall not until my successor arrives.

As the Ship that takes these Letters calls at Norfolk Island on her way Mr Bauer goes in her & will return here by the Investigator.  I made Cayley the offer also but he seems to think he has full employment here, he is very assiduous, and I hope gives you satisfaction.

You will be glad to hear that previous to Col Patersons leaving here for Port Dalrymple we were reconciled.  No animosity I hope ever existed between us, but I cannot help wishing his [indecipherable] had ever acted from his own Ideas.  We then should have remained good friends & none of these disagreeable
