I recollect in (about) 1874 comingacross a Dictionary giving
the meanings of aboriginal names. This book was with other
official records in the Records Plan Room of the Surveyor Generals Office.
Plans of Freehold portions, and stores used by draughtsmen were kept
in this room, then in charge of W. C. Rodd.This book, if not
to hand could probably be found if searched for, and might be found
valuable for the purpose above indicated. It is now difficult to
get the desired information. Several to whom I applied had
already given what informationthey possessed to Police Officers who
are also instructed to do what they can in the matter
