Your list of names of Aboriginal places
with their meanings duly received for which accept the
Society's thanks -
Could you give me as full a description of the
the place called "Merriwa"? Is it at the junction
of two creeks? Or is it a hill? Much interest is connected
with this name.

the Merriwa river running through it which emptys
into the [Golbourne?]
In former days Merriwa was a favourite camping
ground for the Aboriginies as there wer [sic] good fishing
holes
