Re Native names of places and
meanings of such
Const John Murray No4720
reports for the information of
Sub-Insp. McKeague that the
only old aborigine who camps
in this district is at present in
Ulladulla attending the doctor
and the young ones know nothing
of the meanings of the native
names.
There being a large cattle
sale in Nelligen on Saturday
last Const Murray found it a
favourable opportunity to ask
most of the old residents of
the district re the above matter
but was unable to glean any
information whatever: some of
them knew some of the Native
names of different places in
the locality but not one of
them knew the meaning of
any of them.
