   I have the honor to forward herewith
a list of the Native Names of places in
this District with the meanings of the names
which I have obtained from some of the old
residents who have had intercourse with
the Aborigines. A few of the meanings of the
names of the place have been confirmed by
an intelligent half caste aboriginal who I
met on the Upper Clarence River.
