Re paper having reference to the collectionof Native names of places and their meaning
Senior Constable Jones no1034. respectfullyreports that he interviewed James Shortand Mrs Willoughby the oldest half castAborigine about Mongarlowe respecting theNative names of places in their district andtheir meaning. They stated they know themall in English, but not their meanings orreasons why names were given to the variousplaces by the natives. There are not any Aboriginesin this districts.
