1st Master & worker
he is master of the Corporation of mint officers Tho not the Cheif officer, & worker * of the Coins he had a Salary of £500 a year as master with Some Perquisites; & as worker claims his Fees were formerly was a Derivd from the allowance made given by the Crown for making the Coins, of which he was bound to allow an adequate Share to the moneyers & all the persons of the Corporation Employd in the manufacture, Reserving the Residue for his fee share

under this arrangement Lord Cadogen who was master & worker during the Recoinage in the year 1774 &c, gaind, during his mastership more than £50,000 for his Fees only, besides his Salary his Perquisites & the Profit derivd from the meltings which Last brought to him £11,500 & his Fees on Copper Coinage
