This is certainly an office of importance & ought not to be intrusted, as is now the Case, to a deputy whose net Receipt from the office is Stated to be no more than £45 a year & who is not likely to Receive from his Principal any addditional Profit.
it is Presumed that in future this office will be made Effective & the Principal Obligd to Reside in his house & do his business in Person, but the Present allowances which for both Principal & Deputy amount to no more than £287.15 must in that Case be materialy increasd
