28th Monday
Went into City to Australian Hqrs - learned that I was to sail by "Karoola" hospital boat on 6th May. Drew 30 days' advance pay from 6th May - £23.
Bought large suit case for £3/10/-. Left King's Cross for Cambridge. Snow is lying deep all over the country between London & Cambridge. Stayed at Gt Northern Hotel.
29th
With a Naval Air Officer, Capt Rhys Soar visited colleges, chapel, halls and The Backs. Bought two books - Napoleon (Tegg) & Edward I.
Left Cambridge 4.10pm. Trained to Ely & then to Lincoln. At Saracen's Head Hotel.
