Raining - Took my company out during a break to salvage vegetables as our rations are rather short lately. We found a garden made by the Germans & brought back cabbages, turnips, carrots, beetroot & parsnips in galore. Commenced duty as Brigade Field Officer for 4th -5th Decr. (Retreat to Retreat). Played cards with Doc of 16th., McKillop, & Merifield.
